INNER HEALING TAKES COURAGE

Inner healing is not easy, it takes real courage. It means facing painful emotions and past wounds instead of pushing them down. Healing requires being vulnerable, patient, and willing to go through uncomfortable moments so that God can bring us peace and strength. When we experience hurt or trauma, it can change how we see ourselves and even how we view other people.
This past year has been like a roller coaster, ups, downs, and unexpected turns that opened up old wounds I thought were already healed. But I had to remind myself, and remind the enemy, that the old me is gone. The person I am today is the one God is shaping through His work.
Have you ever thought you were over something painful, but then someone says or does something that feels like ripping off an old scab? Suddenly, the pain comes rushing back, and you realize there’s still deeper healing needed.
For me, rejection played a big role in my life growing up. I thought that if I kept people out, I wouldn’t have to feel the pain of them leaving. But instead, that brought new struggles, like anxiety, depression, and feelings of abandonment. It took me years to admit that, to work through it, and to let God heal me.
Healing meant sitting with my emotions instead of running from them. It meant letting God comfort me instead of trying to numb the pain with vices and distractions. That takes courage, but it also brings freedom.
I’ve made a promise to myself: I will not let what has happened to me define me. And I will not use my pain as a reason to judge or mistreat others. Instead, I will allow God to use my story as proof of His healing power.
The Bible reminds us:
• “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
• “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
• “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
Healing takes courage, and discipline but the great news is with God, you don’t have to do it alone. Together we are Fit2heal.
